Admission to the MOT program is competitive and reviewed by the Graduate School, the University and the Occupational Therapy 91ɬÂþ Committee.

Academic Requirements

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 credit hours
• A 3.0 is required before beginning the Cohort. A limited number of applicants with a 2.90–2.99 GPA may receive conditional admission. Conditional admission status is removed when the student achieves a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA in prerequisite courses.
• Prerequisites must be completed with a grade of C or better.

Application Process

• with all requirements through the Occupational Therapist Centralized Application Service (OTCAS)
  1. Applicants must complete a minimum of 40 combined hours of human service experience and/or OT observation. Human service hours may include work, volunteer, personal, or community experiences. Applicants with OT observation hours may receive stronger consideration during admissions review.
  2. All hours must be documented on the required Human Service/OT Observation Form and uploaded to OTCAS.
  3. 3 letters of professional/academic recommendations & evaluations
  4. Personal statement through the Occupational Therapist Centralized Application Service (OTCAS)
  5. Upload your CV/Resume in

International Applicants Only

All required prerequisites must be completed at the time of application.

• Letters of Recommendation have to be submitted by the referees directly and electronically. Students cannot upload referee letters.
• Submit Bank Statement: Account summary or letter from the bank showing the availability of funds is sufficient. We do not need detailed transactions.
• Proof of English Proficiency and Foreign Credentials Scholaro GPA and Degree Report. Visit Graduate School requirements for more details.

Prerequisite Courses

• Intro to Occupational Therapy
• Human Anatomy and Human Physiology OR

A&P I and A&P II (Must be the same series.)

• Abnormal Psychology/Psychopathology
• Statistics
• Medical Terminology
• Introduction to Sociology or a course equivalent. One of the following courses may substitute for Introduction to Sociology:
  1. Social Problems, Race & Ethnicity, Diversity in the US,
  2. Introduction to Anthropology

• Developmental (Lifespan) Psychology (Course must include infancy – older adulthood.)

NOTE: Anatomy and Physiology must be completed within 5 years of admission. Prerequisite courses may be repeated no more than twice to improve a grade to C or above.

Transfer Credit - Transfer credit is not accepted for professional coursework within the MOT curriculum.

Program Enrollment

Students may enroll in the MOT program full‑time or part‑time beginning in the fall semester. Only the first year of the program can be done part-time.
